All Maine Coon kittens placed by Giant Coonies Ohio are sold strictly as pets only. We do not offer breeding rights under any circumstances.

Every adoption is completed under a pet-only contract, and all kittens are spayed or neutered before go-home. This policy protects the health of our kittens, supports ethical breeding practices, and ensures responsible placement.

 Lifetime Ownership Commitment

Maine Coons are a long-lived breed that require ongoing care, attention, and companionship. By adopting a kitten, families agree to provide a safe, stable, and permanent home.

 Veterinary Care & Ongoing Health

Although our kittens leave fully prepared, ongoing veterinary care becomes the responsibility of the new owner after adoption.

This includes regular wellness exams, vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian, dental monitoring, and prompt medical care if illness or injury occurs. Staying proactive supports long-term health and quality of life.

Housing & Safety Responsibilities

Owners are responsible for maintaining a safe living environment for their Maine Coon.

This includes keeping kittens indoors, protecting against household hazards, providing appropriate scratching surfaces, and ensuring windows, balconies, and doors are secure. Indoor living significantly reduces risks and supports a longer, healthier life.

 Local Laws & Regulations

Ownership laws and regulations can vary by location. While Maine Coons are legal to own in most areas, it is the responsibility of the buyer to confirm compliance with local, state, and municipal regulations.

We understand that life circumstances can change. If a situation ever arises where a family can no longer care for their cat, we require responsible communication.

The kitten should never be surrendered to a shelter without contacting us first. Rehoming decisions must be handled thoughtfully and with the cat’s well-being as the priority.
