At Giant Coonies Ohio, health and responsibility guide every decision we make. We believe families deserve clear standards, not vague promises, which is why we handle all major health and registration steps before a kitten ever leaves our care.

Our goal is simple: send each kitten home healthy, prepared, and set up for a smooth transition, so families can focus on bonding instead of logistics.

Our Health Philosophy

Responsible breeding starts long before a kitten is born. We prioritize health, structure, and temperament in our breeding cats and follow consistent care standards throughout kitten development.

We do not rush growth or placement. Instead, we give kittens the time they need to develop physically and socially in a stable environment. This approach supports long-term well-being and reduces stress during the transition to a new home.

Health is never treated as an afterthought—it is built into every stage of our program.

Full Health Standards

All kittens raised at Giant Coonies Ohio receive full health care and preparation as part of our program. This includes routine monitoring, veterinary oversight, and consistent care from birth through go-home.

Before leaving us, every kitten is:

Thoroughly health-checked
Raised under structured care routines
Prepared for life in a home environment

We believe families should not have to guess whether important steps were completed. We take responsibility for those steps so expectations remain clear.

12-Week Go-Home Policy

Our kittens go home at a minimum of 12 weeks of age. This timing allows kittens to:

Develop physically at an appropriate pace
Learn important social behaviors
Transition more confidently into new homes

By waiting until 12 weeks, we support healthier development and reduce common adjustment issues seen with earlier placements.

Spay / Neuter Completed Before Go-Home

All kittens are spayed or neutered before leaving our care. This policy is part of our commitment to responsible breeding and ethical placement.

By completing this step in advance:

Families avoid additional medical scheduling
Recovery occurs in a familiar environment
Long-term health planning becomes simpler

Every placement is made under a pet-only contract, and we do not place kittens for breeding.

TICA Registration Included

Every kitten from Giant Coonies Ohio comes with TICA registration, completed before go-home. This provides families with official documentation confirming pedigree and breeder authenticity.

We believe registration is an important part of transparency, and we include it as a standard—not an add-on

What Families Receive

In addition to health preparation and registration, each kitten leaves with guidance and support provided quietly in the background. We share transition information, routine details, and general care guidance so families feel prepared without being overwhelmed.

Our support does not end at pickup or delivery. We remain available to answer questions as your kitten settles into their new environment.

Responsible Breeding & Placement

We place kittens carefully and intentionally. Rather than focusing on volume, we prioritize:

Ethical breeding practices
Honest communication
Long-term success for both kittens and families

This responsibility does not end when a kitten leaves. We view placement as a partnership built on trust and transparency.

Pickup or Delivery Planning

Families may pick up their kitten directly from our location in Bedford, or arrange delivery within Ohio or to other states. All logistics are discussed in advance so families know exactly what to expect.

Regardless of location, our standards remain the same for every kitten.
