At Giant Coonies Ohio, we believe adopting a Maine Coon kitten should feel exciting, clear, and stress-free. For that reason, we’ve built an adoption process that prioritizes communication, preparation, and responsible placement from start to finish.
We do not rush decisions, and we do not pressure families. Instead, we guide you step by step so you always know what to expect and feel confident throughout the journey.
Step 1: Browse Available Maine Coon Kittens
The process begins by exploring our available Maine Coon kittens. Each listing includes helpful details such as color, sex, availability status, and estimated go-home timing. This allows families to get a clear picture before reaching out.
If you do not see a kitten that fits your preferences, you are still welcome to contact us. We are happy to discuss upcoming litters and future availability.
Step 2: Contact Us With Questions or Interest
Once a kitten catches your attention, the next step is to contact us. We encourage questions and open conversation, whether you are new to the breed or already familiar with Maine Coons.
During this stage, we talk through:
- Lifestyle and household expectations
- Temperament and personality fit
- Timing and go-home planning
This helps ensure the right match for both the kitten and the family.
Step 3: Confirm the Right Fit Together
After discussing details, we confirm that the kitten is a good fit for your home. We take this step seriously, because successful placement matters long-term.
We place kittens as pets only, and we focus on matching families based on compatibility rather than urgency. This shared confirmation protects both sides and sets clear expectations moving forward.Step 4: Place a $400 Reservation Depos
Once a match is confirmed, a $400 reservation depositsecures your kitten and removes them from availability. This deposit allows us to plan care, communication, and scheduling around your kitten’s timeline.
Our kittens go home at 12 weeks of age, so this stage also gives families time to prepare properly without feeling rushed.
All deposit details are explained clearly before payment so there are no surprises.
Step 5: Prepare Your Home With Our Guidance
While your kitten continues to grow, we stay in touch and provide guidance to help you prepare your home. This includes general advice on:
- Feeding routines
- Transitioning your kitten smoothly
- The first few days at home
We handle important medical and administrative steps in advance, so families can focus on welcoming their kitten rather than managing last-minute logistics.
Step 6: Pickup or Delivery Day
When your kitten reaches go-home age, families can either pick up directly from our location in Bedford or arrange delivery if they live farther away.
Pickup appointments are calm and unhurried, with time for questions and final guidance. For delivery, all logistics are discussed ahead of time, with fees based on distance and travel planning.
Our goal is always a smooth, low-stress transition for both the kitten and the family.
What’s Included With Every Adoption
Every kitten leaves our care with the following already completed:
- 12-week minimum go-home age
- TICA registration provided
- Full health testing as part of our program
- Spayed or neutered before leaving
- Pet-only contract
- Go-home guidance and support provided in the background
By handling these steps before adoption, we allow families to focus on bonding and settling in.
Ongoing Support After Adoption
Our involvement does not end at pickup or delivery. We remain available for questions and guidance as your kitten adjusts to their new environment.
